Samarah LaFoca

Veterinarian
Samarah LaFoca, DVM, is an associate emergency veterinarian at COVE. Dr. LaFoca completed her undergraduate studies in Animal Science with a minor in Equine Science at The Pennsylvania State University. She then went on to earn her veterinary degree from The Ohio State University in 2018.
Following graduation, Dr. LaFoca practiced general medicine in Columbus and developed an interest in soft tissue surgery, laparoscopy, and emergency medicine.
Dr. LaFoca also served as a mentor for veterinary students and new graduate veterinarians while in general practice. She joined the COVE team in 2023.

EXPERIENCE
Dr. LaFoca’s specific interests include soft tissue surgery, laparoscopy, and critical care. She completed training in Small Animal Laparoscopy at Colorado State University in 2021 and now offers laparoscopic (minimally invasive) spay, gastropexy, and abdominal organ biopsies in addition to emergency care services. Dr. LaFoca also continues to mentor veterinary students as a locum veterinarian at The Ohio State University Frank Stanton Spectrum of Care Clinic. For Dr. LaFoca, the most rewarding part of emergency medicine is successfully diagnosing and managing intensive medical cases in a collaborative environment.
