Dave Mathes, DVM is an emergency/critical care veterinarian with a focus on orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Mathes earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University. After this, he accepted a commission as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and attended Naval Flight School in Pensacola, Florida.
After earning his Naval Aviator Wings, he served as a pilot and aircraft commander on active duty until transitioning to the reserve component in 2016 when he attended The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine to earn his veterinary degree in 2020.
Following graduation, Dr. Mathes initially went into private practice with a focus on advanced oral surgery.

EXPERIENCE
Dr. Mathes has experience in emergency and critical care medicine with a specific focus on emergency and elective surgery including soft tissue and orthopedics. He also continues to use his broad experience in advanced oral surgery. Dr. Mathes also performs elective orthopedic surgery at various private practices within the greater Columbus area via our mobile service, On The Spot Mobile Specialty and Veterinary Services. Dr. Mathes enjoys the diversity of emergency medicine and surgery and finds great reward in helping his patients when they are in that emergent time of need.
