COVE Emergency Services Offered:
- Access to in-house specialty care / consults – Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery
- Accidental ingestion of foreign material or toxins
- Advanced diagnostics – point of care blood (CBC, chemistry, electrolytes, cortisol, blood gas, IDEXX Snap Testing, coagulation times, blood smear pathologist review via Imagist), urine, fluid analysis, clinical pathology via VetScan Imagist
- Blood and plasma transfusions
- Laser Treatment for pigmented iris lesions and melanomas
- Cardiac emergencies - congestive heart failure, pericardial effusion, arrhythmia management
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) – RECOVER certified staff
- Critical illness management – diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA), Addisonian crisis, pancreatitis, immune mediated hemolytic anemia(IMHA), etc.
- Climate/exposure emergencies – heat stroke, hypothermia
- Diagnostic Imaging – ultrasound and digital radiology with STAT radiologist image review
- Dystocia- either medical or surgical intervention to help deliver puppies or kittens.
- Endoscopy- retrieval of gastric or esophageal foreign bodies with a GI scope
- Gastrointestinal Emergencies – diarrhea, vomiting, bloat, motility disorders and constipation
- Neurologic Emergencies – seizures, intervertebral disc disease
- Ophthalmic Emergencies – glaucoma, corneal ulceration, conjunctivitis, proptosis
- Pain management
- Respiratory Emergencies - pleural effusion, pneumonia, asthma, congestive heart failure
