Surgical experience. Local roots. Lasting relationships.
Dr. Jimmy Reynolds earned his bachelor’s degree in animal sciences and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University, graduating from veterinary school in 2014. He began his career in emergency medicine, where he developed a passion for emergency care and surgery.
His subsequent work in general practice deepened his appreciation for everyday animal care and relationships with the people who care for pets. Bringing those experiences together, he founded On the Spot Mobile Specialty and Veterinary Services in April 2019.
Through On the Spot, Dr. Reynolds built partnerships with general practices across Central Ohio, bringing advanced surgical procedures into familiar veterinary hospitals. Elective orthopedic surgery, particularly tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO), became a focus of that work.
In May 2022, he opened COVE Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital in Delaware, Ohio, bringing 24/7 emergency care and specialty services to the region. His vision for both businesses is exceptional, affordable care within a privately owned practice, serving pet families in Columbus, Central Ohio, and surrounding communities.

Understanding TPLO surgery for dogs.
TPLO is a surgical option for dogs with a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) injury, often called a dog ACL tear. It changes the knee’s mechanics to improve stability during weight bearing. An orthopedic evaluation helps determine whether TPLO or another treatment fits your dog’s needs.
