Eric Miller DVM, MS, DACVO is a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist.
Dr. Miller completed his undergraduate studies at Mississippi College and then went on to earn his veterinary degree from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Following graduation, he completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at Mississippi State University.
After he spent time in private emergency practice Dr. Miller then continued his training at The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center where he completed a second rotating internship, a fellowship in internal medicine, and a combined three-year ophthalmology residency and Masters of Science degree in Comparative and Veterinary Medicine.
Following his residency, he joined the faculty as a professor of clinical ophthalmology at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Miller’s veterinary ophthalmology experience is extensive including all veterinary species.
He authored and co-authored both book chapters and numerous manuscripts in peer reviewed journals and was subsequently appointed to serve as an editor for ophthalmology book chapters. His research includes novel and sustained ocular drug delivery methods, reducing complications of cataract surgery, and corneal ulcers. Dr. Miller also participated in studies to develop the technology used in artificial lenses and other ocular implants. He continues to be a sought after educator giving lectures at regional, national, and international conferences. He is passionate about all areas of ophthalmic surgery with a focused interest in cataract surgery. Dr. Miller continues this passion for performing, improving, and teaching cataract surgery and remains an annually invited instructor at the prestigious ACVO William Magrane Basic Science Course where he trains national and international veterinary residents. Vision restoration to previously blind animals is the most rewarding part of cataract surgery and Dr. Miller takes great pride in educating his clients and building lifelong bonds to restore pets’ vision and maintain comfort.
