Get to know Dr. Miller
Advanced training. A personal approach.
Dr. Miller completed his ophthalmology residency and master’s degree at The Ohio State University, then joined its clinical ophthalmology faculty. Today, he brings that experience to COVE and the Central Ohio families who trust him with their pets’ eyes.
Dr. Miller has authored and co-authored book chapters and numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, and has served as an editor for ophthalmology book chapters. His research includes new ways to deliver medication to the eye over time, reducing cataract-surgery complications, and corneal ulcers. He has also participated in studies advancing the technology behind artificial lenses and other ocular implants.
He lectures at regional, national, and international conferences, with a particular passion for performing, improving, and teaching cataract surgery. As an annually invited instructor at the ACVO William Magrane Basic Science Course, he helps train veterinary residents from the United States and around the world.
For Dr. Miller, helping a previously blind animal see again is among the most rewarding parts of cataract surgery. He takes pride in educating families, building lifelong relationships, and working to restore pets’ vision while maintaining their comfort.
